Scope Fields (best method to return all details when the result is 1 record)

Greetings Team,

When reading; I use "Fields" object within "Scope" to list the fields returned. Thinking, when the "Criteria" will always return 1 element within "Data" object (i.e., when the "Criteria" is a Key $EQ request). Can I instruct the API to return "all" field details for the "Scope" instead of defining which in detail? This would greatly simplify the request format.
